Are we really trusting God?

Jeremiah 17: 7,8

Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.

It has occurred to me recently that I might not be trusting the Lord as much as I like to admit. It’s easy to talk about trusting God, but when we are in the middle of a trail, it’s hard not to be focused more on the trail, or circumstance, then on the Lord, who has allowed the trail in order to do a new work in us.

I love how here in Jeremiah 17: 7,8 it says that we are blessed when we trust in the Lord. We will be like that tree planted by the waters. The heat is going to come whether we like it or not, however when we can trust in the Lord even when things are getting heated, we will still remain fruitful.

Even in a season of drought, when it appears that our lives are going nowhere and the future is unsettling, we will not become anxious when we trust the Lord, because He will bring fruit, He always is faithful and trust worthy.

Keep trusting Jesus, even when things are not going great in your life – things will get better. He has you right where he wants you to be in order that you will trust Him more.
