We approach life as one big family at Great Divide Calvary. Whether you are a seasonal or year round resident, maybe you are  just passing through for the weekend or on vacation, we consider you a part of our family. 

We seek to love each other, grow together, and be a blessing to this community. Our greatest desire is to know Christ and be conformed to His image by the power of the Holy Spirit.

We are connected to the pulse of this County – a diverse group of travelers, adventure-seekers, and down-to-earth people.

Sometimes we think we are ready to do something spectacular for God, but we are not ready yet, we still need the Lord to do something deeper in us. Wisdom in God’s “when” is necessary to assure His “what” is set up for success and not failure. Peter faced a similar scenario. Enthusiastic to the point of saying he was willing to lay down his life for Jesus, but he soon discovered he was not ready…Jesus was right. The still immature disciple was ahead of himself…not yet truly emptied of self or filled and empowered by the Holy Spirit. He romanticized the idea of dying for Jesus, but when the reality of following His Master’s fate sunk in…Peter sunk back into the darkness denying Jesus three times, just as Jesus had predicted. The Lord knew His maturing disciple, full of potential, was not yet ready to follow fully surrendered. When Peter met His resurrected Savior and Lord, and Jesus breathed on Him the fullness of the Spirit…the former denier of the faith became a bold proclaimer of the faith. Wisdom takes the time to process desires in a manner that filters out fleshly yearnings…and replaces them with the Spirit’s affections. (Boyd Bailey)
God hears your prayer; and He answers your prayer. Not always as quickly as we'd like. Not always in the way we'd like. But always in His perfect timing, and His perfect will. God’s memory is perfect. He is able to remember our prayers not only for years but also for generations beyond our lifetime. He never forgets them and may move in response long after we first brought our requests to Him. Sometimes His answer is “no,” other times it is “wait”—but His response is always measured with love. God’s ways are beyond us, but we can trust that they are good. Ephesians 3:20 “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.”
Join us tonight 7-8pm in Blue River at The Humphreys for a missions focused meeting. We will host these meetings every 3rd Tuesday of the month as we study through, Surprise The World, by Michael Frost, pray for our county, church, community and Cerritos, MX.
Bless 3 people this week. “To bless”is to add strength to another’s arm. What does it mean to add strength to another’s arm? Anything that relieves their burden in life anything that helps them breathe more easily anything that lifts their spirit or alleviates their distress. In this respect to bless others is to build them up to fill them with encouragement for them to increase in strength and prosperity. Along with blessing, pray Jeremiah 7:7-8, “But blessed is the one who trust in the Lord, who’s confidence in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
“And yet, O Lord, you are our Father. We are the clay, and you are the potter. We all are formed by your hand.”
